Waist Training 101: Your Beginner's Guide to Waist Shaping

Dolls, it doesn't get better than waist training. I've found that the ability to accent, highlight and stay in shape with the trainers is superior to any other form of training. When I see the results in the mirror every day, I know that it is worth it!

I've seen amazing results from thousands of people that look and feel better because of the waist trainers that they use. The results sometimes happen in a few days and immediately begins to transform your waistline... turning the bulge into the beauty. :)

If you have been thinking about waist training but aren't sure where to start, then follow this guide to get the results you want and to get the curvelucious, beautiful body that helps you to always be at your best.

What Is Waist Training?

Waist training came into vogue with several celebrities, like Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian's waist trainers, J-Lo waist training, Jessica Alba, Lily James and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. They are caught using these during workouts to accentuate their curves... and then continuing to use it to show that the curve was the style. When the celebrities started saying yes, the curvy look came back in and women everywhere started to look out for the perfect solution to stay not only in shape, but also with THE shape.

It didn't start from that point. In fact, the waist trainer became popular in the 1500s. Women used it especially after PostPartum to get their shape back and to highlight their best looks... just like they were before they had a child. :)  Of course, back then, it was based on tying cotton around the body with bone rods to get their look back.

In the 1800s, corsets became the style. You can think it was just a fashion statement, but if you look a little closer at the garments, it was really to highlight the look of attraction to any nearby admirers that want to see all our beauty and glory from the waist up... or down. The waist is the central point that shows it all, isn't it?

How a Waist Trainer Works

The waist trainer is simple genius. It is a way of getting semi-permanent solutions based on the size of your waist, specifically so you can keep your hourglass figure going.

Waist training includes a corset style (in different shapes and sizes), that is designed to slowly cinch your waist down to the tinier size you have been looking for. The corset includes a bone structure that whittles away certain areas of our body. It does this by taking out the spaces between the ribs as well as "readjusting" our ab area for the itty bitty waist that turns all the heads.

Waist training doesn't stop with just a small adjustment. As you use the trainer, you will notice that your waist gets smaller. When it does, you tighten the trainer... to get even smaller. I've seen waists go from a 2 XL to a small by working with the trainer.

You should see some of their waists now!

Does It Work?

I am asked this question a lot by skeptical minds. The simple answer is... ab.so.lutely!

Believe it or not, our bodies are trained to morph. It's just like lifting weights or running a lot. Your body is going to shift and change to match what you are doing to it. That means that waist training simply adds in a different approach to working with your body and getting it to help with the results you want and need.

Here's some things I've seen...

* Women with PostPartum going from their baby stretches back to what they looked like before... and even better.

* Fast ways to lose the fat around the belly... that's the stubborn part that we all work so hard to get off.

* Curves and curves and curves. If you are insecure about your waist because it seems a little too straight, then you should check out the curves that come from these trainers. It's not something you would expect to be so effective. Trust me... it is.

* Posture support. While it's not one of the reasons why most start with waist training, I've found that support for your posture is a great addition to waist training. Because it is pulling in certain parts of your abs, it also forces you to sit up straighter.

Is Waist Training Safe?

I've personally been using a waist trainer for several years. Not only have I had very few problems with it, but I haven't been altered or affected in a negative way by using the waist trainers. In fact, I just keep getting results.

It is absolutely safe to use a waist trainer and to get the curves that you want. With it coming more into style, you know that every trainer will build in the safety components that every woman needs.

On the other side... make sure you are aware of some potential problems...

1. Don't make your waist trainer too tight. Remember, training takes time. It doesn't happen overnight. You want your trainer to be just slightly tighter than a normal piece of clothing so that your body gets used to that size. You'll go down another notch quickly, trust me.

2. Wear something under the trainer. I usually use a thin, undershirt. That's just to prevent any reactions from sensitivity while helping you to stay comfortable. Actually, you may sweat while you are waist training, so make sure you don't irritate your skin as you train.

3. Be aware of your body! Everybody responds differently to waist training and it comes with a lot of different effects. Overall, I see very few to no responses that are negative, and most come with fast results. However, it's really important that you remain aware of what your body needs. Don't do too much training in a day and if there is a negative impact, it's ok to rest your waist for a while.

Types of Waist Trainers

It all depends on what you want, right? And what you need at the time. Typically, when someone starts the process of waist training, it comes with a specific goal... more curves, less fat, a tuck in the corner and beauty that you know belongs to you.

Because of different needs, there are a lot of styles for waist training, all to help you get the results you want. Here's some that Luxx Curves offers.

Workout Waist Trainer

exercise waist trainerThis is great for a workout. It is really popular and effective to use a waist trainer while you are working out at the gym. Your results get that much better! The exercise belt is shorter in size, specifically because you need to move to work out all those areas while allowing the waist trainer to work with you.

Regular Bone to 25 Steel Bones

types of waist trainersThere are beginning to advanced waist trainers that you can use. I highly recommend that if you are new to waist training, get the regular in your size with 9 bones (XXS - 2XL). If you want to really accentuate more of your waist, then the 25 steel bone acts as an advanced level alternative for the extra added curve.

The Vest

vest waist trainingIf you have extra back fat or want to balance out your upper body with your lower abdomen, then I definitely recommend the vest. It also has different options to place on your body, specifically so you can get even more results from the trainer you are using.

That's only the beginning of the types of waist trainers out there, Dolls. Corsets, different hook options, alternative makes and models are all available. It depends on what you want and need as well as where you are with your training.

How Do I Find the Best Waist Trainer?

Is there a perfect waist trainer? Every waist training device is different and offers a different approach to how you decide to look at training.

Click here to take the quiz and find out which waist trainer is best for you.

The first thing to clear... there are different formats for waist training. For instance, there are waist cinchers, which use latex to pull in the inches from your body. If you want to hide the bulge under your clothes, then this is what to use. However, it's not considered a part of waist training, because it's not semi-permanent.

When you are looking for the best waist trainer, begin with the make and model. I've found that having a certain number of bones in the trainer makes all the difference. It maximizes the results and stays steady, even over a longer period of time.

And, always look at the hooks and how they interact with your body. For instance, too many or too few hooks won't help to form to your body. Just like any other item of clothing, you need to have the right fit and pull in order to get results.

At Luxx Curves, we also have a front area that is longer than the back. That way, you don't lose the special curves of your booty and you can hide any lower abdomen bulge that you are trying to get rid of.

Getting the Right Fit

Getting the right fit is HUGE! It's the key to making you smaller. :) But, it means that you need to know exactly how to get the right fit.

In this video, I show you exactly what you need to know to get the fit that is best for you.

At Luxx Curves, we also give you a free consultation so you know where to start with your waist training. Remember, you will go down a size and down hooks as you train. Always make sure you start in a space that is comfortable.

Are you ready to start? Contact us for a F*R*E*E* Consultation on which waist trainer is right for you.

There is a general guideline based on the inches you have around your waist. For instance, if you are 28" to start, then you will need a small size. We have sizes from XXS to 2XL, so you can start with your best body type now, and work into what fits best.

When to Wear Your Trainer

Wearing a trainer all the time isn't a good idea. It can be harmful to your body because you are helping it to change shape. Be really aware of what you need to do and when... that's how you get the results.

1. Should you sleep in your trainer? It would be ideal if you could wear your trainer at night, hoping to wake up the next day with even more curviness. This isn't recommended and won't speed up the results. Give your body rest at night, as well as the trainer.

2. The first ten days. It takes time for your body to get used to waist training and for you to be comfortable with the item. For the first week, slowly get used to the trainer. I recommend wearing the trainer for 2 hours the first day, then 4 hours. You can slowly build up and ease into the full training program. By the 10th day, you can start wearing the trainer for 8 - 10 hours.

3. Maxing out your results. At most, you want to wear your waist trainer for 8 - 10 hours a day. You don't need anymore than that, Dolls. It will get you results. After this, make sure you take care of your body and that you support it with other types of results you want.

4. Exercise? There are certain waist training exercises you can do with a trainer. However, be careful with other exercises. When your body is scrunching your waist, certain types of movements are safer than others.

How Much Is a Waist Trainer?

If you are on a budget, you can still waist train and get results. If you are questioning the cost, then look at different aspects and how this will shift your body.

I've seen waist trainers as low as $20 - $30 and as high as a few hundred dollars. It really depends on the make and build of the trainers as well as the results they promise to give.

More important than looking at the cost of a waist trainer, identify exactly how it will work. For instance, Luxx Curves offers several bones to help pull in your waist and to maintain results. Others are using things like latex or only materials to get results. That will make a difference in the price... and the results.

Not only do the results come from the types of bones used. There are layers of materials that are designed to help you sweat out any excess fat. For instance, Luxx Curves has 3 layers of material to help with getting off stubborn fat... it's the sauna effect. If you want even more results... definitely want to try this on for size.

How to Maximize Your Results

Are you visualizing the look yet, Dolls? The slinky dress that brings out every curve in every area? The turn of heads from the perfect body... finally wearing the bikini you always wanted...and you feel even better and better about who you are because now you can show it off!... the waist trainers can get those results.

More than anything, I've found that waist training helps us to feel better in our own skin. It makes it so we can identify with our own beauty and self-worth. I've seen the confidence build, happier faces and lives change because we finally fit into the look we know is really who we are.

Of course, I've also found that working with other parts of our bodies helps us to maintain other things we need. Higher energy levels, reversing aging and taking care of our bodies for the future also comes with getting better results.

While you are waist training, make sure you exercise consistently. It will actually increase the results that you get. More important, it will release all the good dopamines and other hormones that we need to feel better about ourselves.

You can get even more with better nutrition. Here's a huge myth.... "when you waist train you can eat large amounts of food, even if it is bad for you."

I wouldn't recommend doing that now or in the future. If you eat the right nutrition, then you will also maximize results. That's because your inner self is going to get the same health results as your waist. It always needs that.
